In a recent wave of whisky brands refreshing their bottle designs, following Highland Park’s redesign last week and Glen Moray with New Look, Scapa has now joined the trend by launching its first-ever collection of aged single malts alongside a brand-new look.
Scapa, the famed single malt from the Orkney Islands, has launched its first-ever collection of aged single malts, marking a new chapter for the distillery. Along with the unveiling of its 10-, 16-, and 21-year-old single malts, Scapa has introduced a fresh new design that reflects the tranquility and beauty of its Orkney home.
Crafted by Head Distiller Mick Swanney, these whiskies capture Scapa’s distinct character, known for its unpeated malt and extended fermentation, setting it apart from other island malts. Each expression is matured in first-fill American oak casks, showcasing Scapa’s signature tropical and fruity flavor profile.
Each bottle in the collection is housed in beautifully designed packaging that draws inspiration from Scapa’s coastal surroundings and Scandinavian heritage, paying homage to the distillery’s location in Scapa Flow. The soft, delicate colors of the labels and gift boxes represent the hues of the Orkney landscape, deepening with age.
According to Swanney, “The new collection is a celebration of provenance and craftsmanship, capturing Scapa’s 139-year history and the unique, peaceful essence of life on Orkney.”
The collection is now available in select markets in mid-November 2024. Prices start at €60 for the 10-year-old, €120 for the 16-year-old, and €300 for the 21-year-old.
For those lucky enough to visit the distillery, the new whiskies can be sampled at the Scapa Noust tasting room, where guests can enjoy undisturbed views of the Scapa Flow alongside a guided distillery tour.
