Redbreast is celebrating two decades of its popular 15 Year Old expression with the launch of a limited edition Redbreast 15 Year Old Cask Strength, bottled at natural strength and crafted from just 15 specially selected casks.
Originally released in 2005 as a one-off, Redbreast 15 Year Old quickly became a permanent part of the Redbreast core range. This new release pays tribute to that legacy with a bold 56.3% ABV bottling drawn from a small batch of bourbon and Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks. The cask selection, chosen by Master Blender Dave McCabe, mirrors the whiskey’s age as a tribute to its enduring popularity.
According to McCabe, “Bottling it at natural cask strength allows the whiskey to fully showcase its complexity and vibrancy. Selecting 15 casks for this expression was a meaningful choice, connecting the whiskey’s age to its creation story.”
Redbreast 15 Year Old Cask Strength will launch exclusively via MidletonDistilleryCollection.com on June 11th at 12pm (IST), with a suggested retail price of €130. Each bottle carries a unique batch stamp, marking it as part of this one-off release.
Official tasting notes from Irish Distillers describe a nose of dried fruits, toasted oak, citrus, and pot still spices, followed by a rich and intense palate featuring cinnamon, nutmeg, red berries, vanilla, and sherry-driven tannins and nuttiness.
Master Blender Emeritus Billy Leighton noted, “This cask strength edition captures the spirit of that original moment — delivering a whiskey that is both deeply familiar and thrillingly new.”
The release aligns with the brand’s “Quite the Find” campaign, which highlights unique discoveries, and follows Redbreast’s recent creative partnerships, including actor Andrew Scott and the Unhidden short film award at SXSW.
