Kavalan is marking its 15th anniversary with the release of an exclusive Limited Edition Whisky Duo, featuring two of the oldest whiskies the brand has ever produced. Known for its excellence in crafting single malts, Kavalan continues to push the boundaries of whisky-making, and this anniversary duo is a testament to the distillery’s dedication to quality.
For this special occasion, Kavalan has selected two exceptional casks from its 2009 vintage, the same year these casks debuted in the renowned Solist Series. According to Mr. Y.T. Lee, CEO of Kavalan, the duo includes one Spanish Oloroso Sherry cask and one American ex-Bourbon cask, each representing the pinnacle of Kavalan’s craftsmanship after 15 years of aging.
The design of the bottles and packaging for this 15th Anniversary Limited Edition is symbolic of the journey from spirit to aged whisky. The transparent glass bottles represent the clarity and purity of the whisky within, while the elegant packaging highlights Kavalan’s maturation process. The gift set also includes a specially designed whisky nosing glass and a gradient coaster, elevating the entire tasting experience for connoisseurs.
The Kavalan 15th Anniversary Vintage 2009 Oloroso Sherry Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky stands out with its deep raisin hue and a nose full of plum, dried fruits, and hints of citrus and caramel. On the palate, this whisky delivers rich flavors of dark chocolate, espresso, and toasted brown sugar, with a long, warm finish marked by cinnamon and clove.
Meanwhile, the Kavalan 15th Anniversary Vintage 2009 ex-Bourbon Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky offers a vibrant amber color, with aromas of honey, roasted almonds, and stone fruits. The palate reveals creamy vanilla, buttery cake, and layers of tropical fruit, creating a luxurious and multi-layered tasting experience.
Launched first in Taiwan in July, the Kavalan 15th Anniversary Duo is now available globally, offering whisky lovers around the world a chance to own and enjoy this unique piece of Kavalan’s history.
