Preceding the announcement of Michter’s Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon 2024 release, Old Forester has also unveiled its latest bottling, the highly anticipated 2024 Birthday Bourbon. This 12-year-old whiskey, bottled at a 53.5% ABV, has been meticulously selected by master distiller emeritus Chris Morris, master taster Melissa Rift, and assistant master distiller Caleb Trigo, drawing from a total of 209 barrels to create a unique flavor profile.
Old Forester will offer this limited-edition release through a nationwide sweepstake, running from August 15 to 21. Winners will have the opportunity to purchase their bottle at the distillery between September 5 and December 14. Priced at $200, this bourbon showcases notes of apricot, apple, spice cake, and sweet tobacco, with a palate featuring toasted oak and cinnamon spice.
Each year, Old Forester releases Birthday Bourbon to honor the birthday of its founder, George Garvin Brown, on September 2. This edition continues the tradition of excellence, offering bourbon enthusiasts a rare and refined experience.
