Compass Box Unveils Hedonism 2025 with Artwork by Sofia Bonati

Compass Box has announced the second annual limited release of Hedonism, now a yearly edition following the discontinuation of its core expression in late 2023. Limited to 9,912 bottles, Hedonism 2025 continues the tradition of artistic collaborations, this time featuring a label designed by Argentinian artist Sofia Bonati.

Originally launched in 2000, Hedonism played a key role in redefining the grain whisky category. The 2025 release builds on this legacy, with Bonati’s nature-inspired design bringing a fresh interpretation to the iconic Hedonism woman. Last year’s edition featured work by Scottish artist Stephanie Rew, who incorporated early Renaissance gilding techniques.

The whisky itself is a blended grain whisky featuring a key component from Cameronbridge Distillery, which was finished for two years in a first-fill Marsala barrique. The resulting profile includes notes of caramel, peach purée, cocoa, pear, chocolate mousse, and nutmeg custard, with white grapes, Fuji apple, and vanilla on the finish.

James Saxon, whisky-making director at Compass Box, highlighted how the annual nature of Hedonism allows for both artistic and whisky-making innovation:

“The 2025 release is unmistakably Hedonism in style and texture, but with the addition of one ex-Marsala barrique and some casks of previous batches, we push the flavours into new territories.”

Bottled at 46% ABV, Hedonism 2025 is priced at £85 (US$107) and is recommended to be paired with parmesan, Pastel de Nata, dried apricots, or salted caramel pots de crème.
