Dutch distributor Salud Spirits has introduced two exclusive Chichibu Symphony Editions as part of the Spirits of Salud range. Inspired by different musical styles, these releases were selected by Ichiro’s Malt & Grain Master Blender Ichiro Akuto to create a symphony of flavors, where each whisky plays a unique role in perfect harmony.
The first release, Chichibu Allargando, is named after a slower, more expressive musical style. Aged in a first-fill sherry hogshead, it offers notes of cherries, strawberry syrup, candied plums, and floral hints of orchids and dahlias. On the palate, flavors of cherry chocolate, espresso, and caramelized pecans emerge. Bottled at 59.2% ABV, only 270 bottles are available.
The second release, Chichibu Allegro, takes its name from a lively and dynamic musical tempo. Aged in a third-fill ex-peated bourbon barrel, it presents aromas of smoked mackerel, barbecue, tropical fruits, and vanilla. The palate delivers roast beef, Manuka honey, and candied pineapple. This release is limited to 240 bottles, bottled at 60% ABV.
Both editions will be available from February 2025 and include a QR code linking to a Spotify playlist that reflects the musical inspirations behind the whiskies. Pricing details have not been disclosed.
