Kavalan Completes Solist Collection with Rare Palo Cortado Release

Taiwan’s Kavalan Distillery has unveiled the Solist Palo Cortado, the final release in its Sherry Cask Solist Collection. Bottled at 50-59.9% ABV, this limited edition joins previous expressions aged in Fino, Oloroso, Amontillado, Manzanilla, Pedro Ximénez, and Moscatel casks.

Described by CEO YT Lee as completing a “Sherry Cask Encyclopedia,” this release is particularly notable due to the rarity of Palo Cortado casks, which make up less than 1% of global sherry production. Kavalan sourced these casks from Spain’s Sherry Triangle, known for producing some of the world’s finest sherries.

The tasting profile features cocoa powder, citrus, dried fruits, pastries, and toffee on the nose, with a palate of orange pound cake, vanilla, toasted biscuits, caramel toffee, and crushed walnuts.

The Solist Palo Cortado is presented in a vibrant yellow packaging, housed in an elegant wooden box, reflecting its premium positioning. It is available exclusively in Taiwan through Kavalan’s official channels.
