The Macallan has unveiled a bold redesign of three of its signature collections—Double Cask, Sherry Oak, and the Colour Collection—through a creative partnership with acclaimed graphic designer David Carson. The updated packaging aims to merge aesthetic innovation with technical transparency, while reinforcing the brand’s storytelling and heritage.
The new design draws inspiration from the architectural form of The Macallan Distillery, particularly its distinctive curved green roof. Triangular shoulder labels now link each bottle to past releases while nodding to Spain’s Sherry Triangle, an integral part of The Macallan’s sherry-seasoned cask legacy. Informative rear labels introduce a new cask type symbol, visually expressing the flavor contributions from American and European oak. Each bottle also features enhanced anti-counterfeit technology, providing greater security and traceability.
Double Cask Collection
Crafted using sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks from Jerez de la Frontera, this collection delivers a smooth and creamy profile. Notes of fresh fruits and toffee from the American oak are balanced by soft spices and dried fruit from the European oak. With age, it evolves into deeper layers of baked fruit and warming spice.

Sherry Oak Collection
Matured entirely in European oak casks seasoned with sherry, the Sherry Oak range is known for its rich mahogany tones and deep character. It brings together layers of dried fruits, ginger, and wood spice, intensifying with time and reflecting The Macallan’s historic style.

Colour Collection
Defined by its use of American oak sherry-seasoned casks, the Colour Collection presents a vibrant and evolving spectrum of natural hues. Younger expressions highlight citrus and vanilla, while older bottlings introduce tropical fruits and greater depth.

According to The Macallan, the whisky itself remains unchanged, with the redesign focused solely on the presentation. The updated packaging will gradually roll out across global markets in 2025.
