Tamdhu is introducing a seasonal cocktail series to coincide with World Whisky Day on 16 May 2026, highlighting the versatility of sherry cask-matured single malt in warmer weather serves.
The initiative challenges the perception of whisky as a winter-focused spirit, positioning it instead as a year-round category, adaptable for both classic and contemporary cocktails.
The first release in the series is the Tamdhu Apricot Sour, a variation on the traditional whisky sour, designed to showcase the fruit-forward and sherried profile of Tamdhu 12 Year Old. The serve introduces apricot liqueur alongside citrus and sugar, creating a more rounded and layered flavour profile.
Serve suggestion – Tamdhu Apricot Sour:
Ingredients:
50ml Tamdhu 12 Year Old
20ml fresh lemon juice
12.5ml sugar syrup
25ml apricot liqueur
Egg white, aquafaba or foamer

Method:
Add all ingredients and dry shake. Add ice and shake again until chilled. Strain into a coupe or sour glass, or serve over ice in a rocks glass.
The cocktail highlights Tamdhu’s core production approach, with the whisky matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry oak casks, contributing rich dried fruit, sweetness and structure to mixed serves.
Distilled and matured on the banks of the River Spey, Tamdhu’s cask programme relies on seasoned oak sourced from Jerez, Spain, forming a consistent sherry-led house style.
Further cocktail releases are expected as part of the series, continuing the focus on seasonal whisky serves and alternative ways to present Speyside single malt.
