Tamdhu Single Malt Scotch Whisky celebrates the arrival of the Chinese Year of the Horse with the release of its latest annual limited edition for 2026. Showcasing the distillery’s renowned all-sherry maturation, this ultra-premium bottling embodies Tamdhu’s dedication to depth, richness and sherry-led elegance.
Bottled at 53.8% ABV, the Tamdhu Year of the Horse 2026 is available now in the UK with an RRP of £150 per 70cl bottle. With just 300 bottles allocated to the UK, this release is expected to be highly sought after by collectors and Tamdhu enthusiasts alike.
Presented in Tamdhu’s iconic octagonal bottle, the whisky is housed in striking red outer packaging created especially for Chinese New Year. The illustration depicts a jockey and horse passing the historic Dalbeallie railway station, a Victorian landmark that still stands at the Tamdhu distillery today. The artwork was commissioned from acclaimed visual artist Page Tsou, who captured the spirit, energy and symbolism of the Year of the Horse.
In Chinese culture, the horse represents strength, perseverance and swift success — values that closely mirror Tamdhu’s own philosophy. Since its founding on the banks of the River Spey in 1897, Tamdhu has remained committed to an unwavering pursuit of quality, maturing every drop exclusively in the finest sherry-seasoned Oloroso casks from Jerez, Spain.

Tasting notes reveal warming spices and mature oak on the nose, followed by dried fruits and honey. The palate is profoundly rich with layers of oak, ginger biscuits and caramelised pear, while the finish is long and rewarding, delivering full-bodied malt, sweet spices and a lift of orange zest.
