The Macallan has unveiled the Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release, a limited edition single malt created to mark 55 years since the iconic James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever first hit cinemas.
Distilled in 2007 and matured for 18 years, the whisky has been crafted using a combination of sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, complemented by American oak casks previously holding red wine. Bottled at 45.5% ABV, the release balances elegance, richness and complexity in a style synonymous with The Macallan.
The bottle and presentation box draw directly from original Diamonds Are Forever production artwork held in the official James Bond archives. Design details reference the film’s striking laser-beam satellite as well as elements from the opening title sequence, creating a collector-worthy tribute to one of Bond’s most memorable cinematic moments.
On the nose, the whisky offers aromas of sweet polished oak, vanilla bean and rich dried fruits. The palate reveals creamy vanilla and caramel, alongside cocoa-dusted champagne truffles, coffee, figs, berries and apricots, supported by subtle warming spices. The finish is long, refined and gently warming, lingering with elegant sweetness.
The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release is available exclusively via The Macallan Society Ballot. To enter, members must log in to their Society account, watch a short film, and complete a series of multiple-choice questions about the release. A diamond-worthy release that fuses cinematic history with exceptional whisky craftsmanship, this limited edition stands as a tribute to two enduring icons.
