The London Distillery Company (TLDC) has announced the release of Ten Times Around the Sun — London’s first 10-year-old single malt whisky and a landmark bottling in the capital’s modern whisky revival.
Distilled from Quench spring barley and filled on 20 October 2015 into single ex-bourbon barrel #007, the whisky has matured for a full decade before being bottled at 51.4% ABV. Presented non chill-filtered and in natural colour, the release reflects TLDC’s long-standing commitment to authenticity of flavour and traditional production methods.
Limited to just 220 bottles and priced at £89.95, Ten Times Around the Sun will launch on Friday 27th February via www.londondistillery.co.uk.
The release is accompanied by striking artwork inspired by the single malt’s decade of maturation, symbolising ten full orbits around the sun and the passage of time that has shaped the spirit.
TLDC was established in 2011, becoming the first new whisky distillery in London since Lea Valley Distillery closed in 1903. Operating from Battersea, the distillery quickly gained recognition for combining traditional production methods with a fresh, contemporary vision.
Following the company’s revival in 2025, TLDC has re-established its place in London’s whisky landscape, building a bridge between the city’s historic distilling heritage and its forward-looking ambitions. Ten Times Around the Sun is a tangible expression of that journey — a whisky that preserves an important piece of London distilling history while pointing confidently to the future.
As one of the earliest casks laid down by the distillery, ex-bourbon barrel #007 matured through a transformative decade for English whisky. Having survived TLDC’s closure in 2019, the cask now stands as a symbol of resilience, reinforcing the capital’s position as a serious and credible whisky-producing region.
