Talisker, the renowned distillery on the Isle of Skye, has unveiled the 2024 edition of its celebrated 30-Year-Old Single Malt. Known for its distinctive “pepper and smoke” flavor profile, this new release is said to elevate those classic Talisker notes to new heights.
Ewan Gunn, Diageo’s senior ambassador for single malt scotch, describes the latest release as “elegant and complex,” with sweet smoke and sharp pepper notes that embody the essence of Talisker. Tasting notes for the 30-Year-Old highlight flavors of apples, stone fruit, dark chocolate, and pecan fudge, layered with the signature pepper and smoke.
This edition is not only a masterpiece in flavor but also in rarity, with only 2,610 bottles available worldwide. Matt McPherson, owner of the Inverness bar the Malt Room, praises the whisky as “the definition of balance,” likening it to “the best smoked butter of your life” with briny hints that evoke the West Coast shores.
Bottled at 49.5% ABV, the 2024 Talisker 30-Year-Old is available through select retailers at an RRP of £1,300.
