A Unique Collaboration

The collaboration between Springbank and Travis is a celebration of both music and whisky. The partnership was born out of the 20th anniversary celebrations for Kilkerran, a sister distillery of Springbank, first established in Campbeltown in 2004. The anniversary festivities, which included a headline performance by Travis at Victoria Hall in Campbeltown on July 13, 2024, were a major highlight for whisky and music lovers alike.

Cask Selection and Artwork

This exclusive whisky has been matured for 26 years in a refill bourbon hogshead, embodying the distinctive characteristics of Springbank’s craftsmanship. The bottle prominently features the artwork from Travis’s L.A. Times album, making it a collector’s item for fans of both the band and fine whisky.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: The whisky opens with soft peat smoke, complemented by the sweetness of honeycomb and tropical fruit notes, a classic profile for bourbon-matured Springbank.
  • Palate: On the palate, it is light and creamy, with flavors of fruit syrup, tinned peaches, and honeydew melon, underpinned by subtle woodspice and the persistent influence of peat smoke.
  • Finish: The finish offers a flinty quality, with a lingering ashy note that evokes the essence of campfire embers.

Limited Edition Release

Only 234 bottles of this single cask release will be available worldwide, each presented in a 70cl bottle at 53.5% ABV. Priced at £1,250, including VAT, the bottle will be available for purchase on Springbank’s official website starting at 12 noon BST on August 14, 2024.

This collaboration not only marks a significant moment for the Campbeltown distillery but also celebrates the enduring legacy of Travis, blending the worlds of music and whisky in a way that is sure to resonate with connoisseurs and collectors alike.
