Springbank is counting down to its 200th Anniversary, with the Countdown Collection launched in 2023, featuring an annual release leading up to 2028, totaling 5 expressions in this unique collection.
In its second release, a 26 Year Old expression, crafted from three refill Bourbon hogsheads and bottled at 51.2% ABV.
Official Tasting Notes:
Nose
Rich and fruity with a syrupy quality. Nectarines, key lime pie, and pineapple juice mingle with subtle hints of marzipan and coconut.
Taste
A creamy and oily mouthfeel reveals vibrant fruits alongside citrus notes, ginger, sesame oil, brazil nuts, and pistachios. The Springbank dunnage style emerges with earthy and sooty undertones.
Finish
Coastal influences prevail with ripe banana, crisp green apples, and coconut flavors, accompanied by oak, banana bread, and hints of liquorice for a refined and balanced finish.
This year introduces changes to the ballot process, with entries accepted via a form on the Springbank website, eliminating the need for payment information.
The ballot opens from 8th March 12 PM (GMT) to 12th March 12 PM (GMT), with results announced within 24 hours of closure. Winners will be contacted directly regarding the outcome of their entry.
