Sazerac Debuts Garavogue 20 Year Old as First Release from Hawk’s Rock Distillery

Sazerac has unveiled the inaugural release from its newly rebranded Hawk’s Rock Distillery in Ireland: Garavogue 20 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey.

Crafted by renowned Master Blender Helen Mulholland, the expression marks a new chapter for the distillery, formerly known as Lough Gill, and delivers a complex profile shaped by an extended, multi-cask maturation process.

This double-distilled single malt was first aged for at least 14 years in ex-bourbon American oak casks, before undergoing additional maturation in a combination of French Muscat, French Sauternes, Spanish Pedro Ximénez Sherry, and Barbadian Rum casks. It has been bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof).

According to official tasting notes, Garavogue 20 Year Old opens with aromas of vanilla, warm peach, spun sugar, and floral-raisin notes. The palate brings vanilla, citrus sweetness, and buttery ripe apples, while the finish lingers with fresh fruit flavours.

Garavogue 20 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey is being released as a limited edition and will be available this month in Ireland, the UK, the US, and global travel retail, with a suggested price of $199 / 700ml.

The release also marks a new premium direction for Hawk’s Rock Distillery under the Sazerac portfolio, with Mulholland at the helm of blending operations.
