Lochlea Distillery is set to mark Burns Night 2025 with an exciting new release: the Lochlea 6-Year-Old, the distillery’s second and oldest age-statement whisky to date (previously released 5-Year-Old). This limited edition showcases the expertise of Lochlea’s new Master Blender, Jill Boyd, alongside Distillery Manager Darren McCormick, who have meticulously selected six first-fill casks from 2018 for this expression.
Crafting the Lochlea 6-Year-Old
The cask makeup of this release is split evenly between first-fill Bourbon barrels and Oloroso Sherry butts, resulting in a whisky with a balanced and complex profile.

- Cask No. 250, 251, 252 – Oloroso Sherry butts
- Cask No. 132, 135, 138 – First-fill Bourbon barrels
Bottled at 50% ABV, this whisky is non-chill filtered and boasts its natural colour, emphasizing the purity of its craft.
