Royal Salute has introduced the latest addition to its annual Polo series: the 21-Year-Old Rio de Janeiro Polo Edition. As the seventh release in this limited-edition collection, it celebrates Brazil’s polo capital, blending tradition with the vibrant energy of Rio de Janeiro.
Crafted by Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, the whisky features a selection of American oak-matured whiskies, with a focus on malts from Braeval Distillery, aged in first-fill casks. The result is a whisky with fruity, floral, and grassy notes, enriched by the creamy sweetness of vanilla and coconut.
Hyslop describes the blend as an intricate dance, likening its layers of flavor to the rhythm of Bossa Nova on a warm Brazilian evening.
The whisky is presented in a striking green flagon, a tribute to Rio’s lush landscapes, with golden accents reflecting the Brazilian flag.
Malcolm Borwick, Royal Salute’s world polo ambassador, highlighted the significance of Brazil in the sport:
“The popularity of polo in Brazil is at an all-time high. The stunning landscapes and dynamic energy make it a place I’ve always loved to play. The cultural vibrancy of Rio makes it a perfect inspiration for this latest edition.”

The Royal Salute 21-Year-Old Rio de Janeiro Polo Edition is available globally in limited quantities at select retailers, priced at US$190.
