Kentucky-based Four Roses is expanding its Single Barrel lineup, celebrating the 20th anniversary of this series by highlighting four out of their ten unique whiskey recipes: OBSV, OBSF, OESK, and OESO. These single barrel expressions, set to launch in 2025, will continue in future annual releases, cycling through Four Roses’ ten distinctive mashbill and yeast strain combinations.
Each new release in the collection will carry Four Roses’ characteristic mellow spice and rich flavors. The flagship OBSV recipe, made with a mashbill of 60% corn and 35% rye and yeast strain V, delivers rye spice with apricot, pear, cinnamon, and toasted oak notes. OBSF combines the same mashbill with yeast strain F, introducing herbal accents, bright rye spice, apple, vanilla, and cocoa. OESK, with a mashbill of 75% corn and yeast strain K, has a profile of mellow oak, tea leaves, baking spices, and caramel. Finally, OESO, crafted with mashbill E and yeast strain O, balances red fruit, vanilla, brown sugar, and a touch of oak.
Bottled between seven and nine years of age at 50% ABV, each whiskey emphasizes Four Roses’ nuanced blending approach and the distinctive depth of its recipes. This latest addition follows the brand’s 2019 release of Small Batch Select, marking another milestone for Four Roses, known for its focused and compact portfolio. With each bottle priced at $50, this collection is likely to appeal to the brand’s loyal collectors and bourbon enthusiasts alike.
