Boutique Scotch whisky brand Clydebuilt, from the independent Ardgowan Distillery, has unveiled a new batch of six small batch Single Malts, including three single cask bottlings. Each whisky is crafted without chill filtration or added colouring and showcases the brand’s dedication to quality, character, and craftsmanship.
The new releases arrive as Ardgowan Distillery officially opened to the public in June 2025, marking a significant milestone following eight years of development. The Clydebuilt label, inspired by the legacy of shipbuilding on the River Clyde, reflects the same pride and precision in its whisky making.
Led by Distillery Manager Laura Davies, a protégé of the late Dr Jim Swan, each whisky in this new collection is aged 12 years and matured in European oak sherry casks on-site at Ardgowan. The six expressions include:
- Clydebuilt 12-Year-Old Sherry Cask Matured – Aged in a mix of Sherry butts, Oloroso, and Pedro Ximénez hogsheads. Bottled at 46% ABV. £46.99
- Clydebuilt 12-Year-Old 100 Proof Sherry Cask Matured – A higher strength version at 57.1% ABV, using the same maturation process. £64.99
- Clydebuilt 12-Year-Old Official Opening Day Release – Commemorating the distillery’s opening on 20 June 2025, this release was matured in three Sherry casks and bottled at cask strength 59.5% ABV. £85
- Clydebuilt 2012 PX Hogshead Single Cask (AS059) – Matured in Pedro Ximénez cask, bottled at 58.5% ABV, with 352 bottles. £85
- Clydebuilt 2012 Oloroso Hogshead Single Cask (AS076) – A rich, spicy profile at 59.0% ABV, limited to 342 bottles. £85
- Clydebuilt 2012 Manzanilla Hogshead Single Cask (AS041) – A lighter, maritime-style single malt matured in a rare Manzanilla cask, 61.1% ABV, 335 bottles. £85
