Bulleit Frontier Whiskey has unveiled its inaugural Bottled-in-Bond expression, a seven-year-old bourbon distilled and matured entirely at the Bulleit Distilling Company in Shelbyville, Kentucky. This new release marks a significant milestone for Bulleit, as the whiskey was distilled in 2017, the same year the distillery opened.
The Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 mandates strict standards, including production during a single distillery season, by one distiller at a single distillery, with maturation in a federally bonded warehouse for a minimum of four years and bottling at 100 proof (50% ABV).
Delicia James, lead whiskey blender at Diageo, expressed pride in achieving this milestone, emphasizing the high-rye mash bill and the bourbon’s richness and complexity. She highlighted that the whiskey embodies Bulleit’s bold and balanced character, crafted with care in Shelbyville.
In 2024, Bulleit also introduced its first American single malt whiskey, coinciding with the federal recognition of the category as an official whiskey type.
The Bulleit Bottled-in-Bond is a limited release, with the frequency of future releases to be determined by the blending team. The whiskey will be available nationwide in the U.S. starting in February 2025, with a suggested retail price (SRP) of $54.99.
