Glenmorangie has unveiled The Lasanta, now aged 15 years in a refined combination of bourbon and sherry casks. This update brings additional layers of complexity and elegance to the whisky’s characteristic rich spice and sweetness.
The whisky was developed by Dr. Bill Lumsden and Master Blender Gillian Macdonald, who extended its maturation period and adjusted the cask selection to achieve a more balanced profile. The bourbon casks contribute Glenmorangie’s signature smoothness, while Oloroso sherry casks add depth with notes of raisins, honey, toffee, clove, and cinnamon.
Dr. Bill Lumsden commented: “With its rich spice and luscious sweetness, Glenmorangie Lasanta is a whisky that elicits the radiant wonder of sunset. Now aged for 15 years, we’ve introduced even more complex and elegant notes, all working together in delicious balance.”
Glenmorangie was among the pioneers of wood-finishing nearly 40 years ago, refining the technique across its core range, which includes the Quinta Ruban (port cask finish) and The Nectar (dessert wine cask finish).
Glenmorangie Lasanta 15 Years Old will be available in the UK from April 2025, priced at £54, through Glenmorangie.com and the Glenmorangie Distillery Visitor Centre.
