Bladnoch Releases Wave II: Distillery & Spirit – Second Chapter in Five-Part Collection

Bladnoch Distillery has announced the release of Wave II: Distillery & Spirit, the second instalment in its five-part Wave Master Distiller’s Collection curated by Dr. Nick Savage. This limited-edition release continues the journey into the art of whisky marrying, with each chapter exploring a foundational pillar of Bladnoch whisky-making.

Wave II celebrates the signature Lowland spirit of Bladnoch, blending whiskies matured in re-charred butts and barrels with first-fill ex-bourbon casks, married in an Amontillado sherry tun. The expression highlights the floral and fruity notes that define the distillery’s house style.

Bottled at 57% ABV, non-chill filtered, and natural in colour, the whisky opens with aromas of pear drops and summer barley, followed by a palate of baked pineapple and spiced ginger snaps, finishing with a floral freshness and gentle spice.

Like its predecessor, Wave II is limited to 1,817 bottles, a nod to the year Bladnoch was founded, and is priced at £125. It is available exclusively from the Bladnoch Distillery and online at bladnoch.com, with international shipping to over 30 countries.

To mark the release, the distillery hosted Wave Day on 14 June 2025, welcoming whisky fans for a day of tastings and celebrations rooted in Galloway heritage.

The series began with Wave I: Time & Maturation in June 2024 and will culminate in a fifth edition that incorporates elements from each preceding release—creating a continuous “wave” of whisky evolution.

Founded in 1817 and revitalised in 2015 by David Prior, Bladnoch continues to embrace both tradition and innovation as it enters a new chapter in its long-standing history.
