Isle of Harris Distillery Unveils Hearach Croft Strength for Travel Retail

The Isle of Harris Distillery has announced a new higher-strength edition of its flagship single malt. Named The Hearach Croft Strength, this exclusive release will be available from 2 July 2025 in selected travel retail locations across Scotland.

Bottled at 52% ABV, Croft Strength pays tribute to the island’s crofters—residents who have worked small farms across the rugged Harris landscape for generations. Crafted using 100% Scottish barley, the whisky is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, oloroso, and fino Sherry casks.

The result is a lightly peated single malt with aromas of soft smoke, caramel, fruits, and spice. On the palate, the whisky delivers a smooth yet characterful experience of wood, fruit, and warming spice.

Launching alongside the whisky is a new Tidal Strength Gin—the first update to Isle of Harris Gin since its 2015 debut. Bottled at 49.5% ABV, this higher-strength version is said to enhance the botanical complexity of the original spirit.

These new products are being introduced following the distillery’s partnership with SipWell Brands, its new global travel retail distributor.

Simon Erlanger, Managing Director of Isle of Harris Distillery, said:
“These two new spirits reflect the strength and character of our island home. With Croft Strength and Tidal Strength, we’re offering travellers a chance to experience the wilder, more elemental side of Isle of Harris spirits.”

The Hearach Croft Strength (RRP £65) and Tidal Strength Gin (RRP £35) will be available exclusively at Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Glasgow airports, with more locations to be announced.
