Award-winning Derbyshire distillery White Peak is taking a stand against the online frenzy of Black Friday with its final release of the year: Wire Works Whisky English Oak. This exclusive expression will only be available offline, encouraging whisky enthusiasts to support bricks-and-mortar retailers and local communities.
Limited to just 129 bottles, the release will hit select high street stockists and the distillery shop on Small Business Saturday, November 30th, 2024. By choosing local retailers over online platforms, White Peak hopes to celebrate the passion and expertise of its retail partners while fostering meaningful, in-person interactions.
The whisky itself is crafted from White Peak’s lightly-peated spirit, matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks before spending nine months in a virgin English oak quarter cask, coopered by Jensons in Yorkshire. Bottled at 54.3% ABV, the whisky offers notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits, walnuts, and orange oil, showcasing its regional provenance and craftmanship.
