The London Distillery Company (TLDC) has unveiled its first whisky release since its relaunch earlier this year—Renascence – The Revival Release, a limited edition single malt created from the last casks laid down during TLDC’s original era (2011–2020).
Named for the concept of rebirth, Renascence features Plumage Archer—a historic barley variety once popular in early 20th-century whisky production. The whisky is matured in a combination of refill barrels and first-fill Sherry casks, delivering a flavour profile that both reflects the company’s past and signals its future direction.
Founded in 2011 as London’s first new whisky distillery in over a century, TLDC helped revive the city’s dormant whisky-making tradition. Its innovative approach—blending historical techniques with a contemporary sensibility—earned it a strong early following. After going into administration in 2020, the distillery was acquired by Gleann Mòr Spirits in 2023. In early 2025, industry veteran Matt McKay was appointed Managing Director & Whisky Maker, ushering in the company’s revival.
Commenting on the release, McKay said:
“Renascence represents not just a new bottling, but a rekindling of the distillery’s original, creative vision. TLDC was ahead of its time in championing heritage and small-batch production. Now, that vision aligns with the tastes of modern whisky drinkers. While we currently operate as a distillery without walls, our ambition is to return to distilling and re-establish ourselves as a creative force in English whisky.”

The London Distillery Company Renascence – The Revival Release is limited to just 410 bottles, bottled at 58% ABV, and will be available exclusively via Berry Bros. & Rudd from 6th June, priced at £89.00 RRP.
