Tormore Launches First Official Whiskies Under Elixir Distillers Ownership: The Blueprint Series

Tormore Distillery has released its first official single malts since being acquired by Elixir Distillers, marking a new chapter for the Speyside site with the launch of the Blueprint series—a trio of limited 10-year-old single malts, each matured in a different cask type.

The Blueprint series features three distinct cask maturations: Bourbon Barrel, Toasted Barrel, and Cream Sherry Cask, each bottled at 48% ABV and limited to 1,500 bottles per variant. Priced at £59.95 RRP, the collection will be available worldwide starting June 2025.

Founded in 1959, Tormore has long been recognised for producing elegant, fruit-driven spirit, but official releases have been rare. Since the distillery’s acquisition by family-owned Elixir Distillers, traditional methods have been reinstated with the goal of re-establishing Tormore’s signature fruit-forward style.

Polly Logan, Tormore Distillery Manager, commented:
“We are incredibly excited to offer our Tormore Blueprint to market. This is a first step in showcasing our wonderful spirit and gives a sneak preview of our future bottlings – and we are so proud of the whisky.”

The three new releases offer a preview of what’s to come, ahead of Tormore’s full relaunch expected in 2026:

  • Tormore 10 Year Old Bourbon Barrel
Aged in first-fill bourbon barrels, this expression highlights notes of custard, biscuits, coconut, and peach tart, anchored by the distillery’s hallmark pear, nectarine, and walnut character.
  • Tormore 10 Year Old Cream Sherry Cask
Matured in barrels that once held Pedro Ximénez-style Cream Sherry, this bottling brings dried fruits, orange peel, and a subtle sweetness that deepens the whisky’s natural warmth.
  • Tormore 10 Year Old Toasted Barrel
Aged in virgin American oak, toasted and charred to distillery specifications, this whisky delivers notes of vanilla, rye spice, and caramel, thanks to the slow, flavour-extractive toasting process.

The Blueprint series represents more than just a product launch—it signals a revived identity for Tormore and a commitment to craftsmanship under its new custodians.
