Introducing the Wood Collection Duo
The latest additions to The GlenAllachie’s Wood Collection are a 12-year-old Sauternes Wine Cask Finish, exclusive to the UK, and a 10-year-old Ruby Port Cask Finish, available across Europe. Both expressions were initially matured in Bourbon barrels before undergoing secondary aging in hand-selected casks, showcasing Walker’s renowned cask innovation.
12-Year-Old Sauternes Wine Cask Finish
Exclusive to the UK and priced at £67.99, this 12-year-old single malt spent additional maturation time in hogsheads that once held Sauternes, the renowned French dessert wine from Bordeaux. This process imparts elegant notes of toffee sauce, vanilla ice cream, coconut shavings, and peach torte, resulting in a sophisticated and layered flavor profile.
10-Year-Old Ruby Port Cask Finish
Designed for the European market, this 10-year-old single malt, priced at £61.99, was further aged in hogshead casks that previously contained Ruby Port from Portugal’s Douro Valley. The rich wood influence has bestowed the whisky with a rose gold hue and flavors of forest fruits, ginger biscuits, honeycomb, and mocha, making it a fruity and indulgent delight.
Expertly Crafted and Monitored
Both single malts were meticulously aged in The GlenAllachie’s on-site warehouses, with Walker closely monitoring their development to achieve the ideal wood influence. Bottled at 48% ABV, these whiskies are non-chill filtered and contain no artificial coloring, ensuring the purity and authenticity of their flavors.
