This annual release, a must-have for whiskey aficionados, features five rare expressions, each with a legacy of its own. Since its debut over 20 years ago, BTAC has become one of the most anticipated collections in the bourbon world. Here’s what’s included this year:
William Larue Weller Bourbon, 62.9% ABV
Aged for over 12 years, this wheated bourbon marks the 25th anniversary of Buffalo Trace’s acquisition of the Weller brand. Bottled at an impressive 62.9% ABV, this release honors the Weller legacy within the BTAC lineup.
Eagle Rare 17 Year Old Bourbon, 50.1% ABV
Distilled in the spring of 2007, this 17-year-old bourbon maintains its fan-favorite status with its high-proof nod to the original Eagle Rare recipe, coming in at 101 proof.
George T. Stagg Bourbon, 68.05% ABV
Known for its unfiltered, cask-strength presentation, this year’s George T. Stagg clocks in at a robust 136.1 proof, slightly younger than last year’s at 15 years and 2 months.
Sazerac 18 Year Old Rye, 45% ABV
This classic rye, a variation of Buffalo Trace’s popular low-rye Sazerac, is aged for 18 years. As usual, it’s bottled at 45% ABV and retains its timeless character.
Thomas H. Handy Rye, 63.6% ABV
The youngest of the BTAC ryes, aged for at least 6 years and presented uncut and unfiltered, this year’s Handy Rye boasts a strong 127.2 proof, bringing rich rye flavors to the forefront.
Each bottle in the 2024 BTAC collection has a suggested retail price of $150, though enthusiasts know these bottles often command a premium on the secondary market.
