Royal Salute has announced the launch of its new 21 Year Old Lunar New Year Special Edition, created to celebrate the Year of the Horse and welcome the New Year with optimism, energy and refined craftsmanship.
Released on 7 January 2026, the latest limited-edition gift pack reimagines Royal Salute’s iconic 21 Year Old Signature Blend through bold, celebratory design while remaining true to the house’s signature elegance. The collectible presentation, titled Ignite the New Year, features artwork by award-winning British artist Emily Carter, whose intricate illustration captures the vitality and joy associated with the Lunar New Year.
The design is rich with symbolic detail, combining vibrant florals, fireworks and butterflies to represent renewal, prosperity and good fortune. Traditional motifs such as cranes, peonies and lanterns are interwoven with royal imagery including lions and the Tower of London, reflecting both Lunar New Year traditions and Royal Salute’s British heritage.
Royal Salute was first created in 1953 to mark the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and the Lunar New Year Edition continues this legacy of celebrating life’s most meaningful moments. As part of an ongoing series of collectible Lunar New Year releases, this edition is designed to appeal to both collectors and whisky connoisseurs alike.
At the heart of the gift pack sits the Royal Salute 21 Year Old Signature Blend, an expression first crafted over 70 years ago and left unchanged to this day. The blend delivers rich notes of ripe fruits and gentle spice, leading to a rounded, velvety-smooth finish. The whisky is presented in Royal Salute’s signature ruby red flagon, inspired by the precious stones of the Imperial State Crown.
