Rosebank Whisky has taken centre stage in a recent episode of the new BBC Two primetime celebrity quiz show Do You Know Your Place?, hosted by Vernon Kay.
The programme, which airs at 6:30pm each week, explores different locations across the UK. During each episode, a panel of celebrity contestants answers questions and hears unusual stories connected to the featured location. One of the latest episodes focused on Falkirk, home to the historic Rosebank Distillery.
Founded in 1840, Rosebank is widely regarded as one of Scotland’s most iconic Lowland distilleries. The episode showcased the distillery alongside several other landmarks in the Falkirk area, offering viewers a closer look at the region’s heritage and attractions.

Rosebank has recently gained further recognition after being crowned the home of “The World’s Best Whisky.” The distillery’s celebrated 31 Year Old expression, bottled at 48.1% ABV, was even sampled by Charles III and John Swinney during the monarch’s visit to Palace of Holyroodhouse earlier this year.
New Rosebank tour experience
To celebrate the accolade, the distillery has introduced a new visitor experience titled “Discover the World’s Best Whisky.” The tour includes:
- A full guided tour of the historic distillery
- A tutored tasting of the award-winning Rosebank 31 Year Old
- A preview of the future with a sample of Rosebank spirit aged since 2023
- A tasting of Rosebank New Make Spirit
The Rosebank 31 Year Old forms part of the Rosebank Legacy Trilogy, alongside 30 Year Old and 32 Year Old releases. These expressions represent the final whiskies drawn from the distillery’s remaining pre-1993 casks, making them some of the most historically significant bottlings associated with the brand.
Falkirk’s other attractions
The episode also highlighted several famous landmarks in Falkirk, including:
- The Kelpies
- Falkirk Wheel
The celebrity panel — featuring Nitin Ganatra, Kate Bottley, and Alex Gray — also faced a series of trivia questions about whisky and regional culture.
One of the questions asked which country consumes the most whisky in the world. The correct answer — India, responsible for nearly 50% of global whisky consumption — was correctly guessed by Ganatra. The overall winner of the Falkirk episode was Rev Kate Bottley.
