Redbreast, Ireland’s most awarded single pot still whiskey, is set to release its latest expression: Redbreast 18 Year Old. This new whiskey, which has already earned four Gold Medals in major 2024 international tasting competitions, is the brand’s first 18-year-old release. Available from September 12th for €225/$249, it promises a unique profile with the addition of cream sherry casks, setting it apart from other Redbreast expressions.
Crafted by Master Blender David McCabe and Master Blender Emeritus Billy Leighton, Redbreast 18 Year Old reflects a commitment to innovation and tradition. Aged in a combination of ex-bourbon, oloroso sherry, cream sherry, and ruby port casks, this whiskey offers a complex flavor profile. The result is a rich blend of blackcurrant and raspberry, tannins, and luxurious chocolate, with added depth from the cream sherry casks.
McCabe highlights the new expression as a way to bridge the gap between Redbreast’s older and younger offerings. The whiskey is said to boast flavors of dark chocolate, blackcurrants, and hazelnuts, while maintaining the brand’s signature style. Leighton notes that the 18-year-old whiskey’s unique profile will make it a valuable addition for collectors and whiskey enthusiasts alike.
Bottled at 46% ABV, Redbreast 18 Year Old will be available across multiple international markets, including Australia, Canada, the U.S., and several European countries.
