During the final years of Prohibition, aged whiskey reserves for medicinal use were rapidly depleting, leading to significant shortages across pharmacies. In the 1930s, a select group of government-authorized distillers — including Old Forester — received special licenses to replenish these essential whiskey stocks.
Bottled at 130 proof (65% ABV), this limited-edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky pays homage to a remarkable historical detail: Old Forester was distilled at 130 proof during the 100-day distiller’s holiday, just a few years before the repeal of Prohibition.
