Kilchoman Unveils Machir Bay Cask Strength Edition 2025

Kilchoman Distillery has released the Machir Bay Cask Strength Edition 2025, a powerful and limited single malt bottled at its natural cask strength of 58.1% ABV. This new expression amplifies the essence of Machir Bay — Kilchoman’s signature style — offering an even more intense balance of smoke, sweetness, and maritime freshness.

Deep golden in colour, richer than the standard expression, Machir Bay Cask Strength opens with bold notes of peat smoke, sweet vanilla, and caramel from the bourbon barrels, beautifully layered with citrus zest, tropical fruit, and subtle floral and mineral hints.

On the palate, it delivers a full-bodied, warming experience, where creamy malt sweetness meets maritime peat smoke, candied citrus, toffee, and a touch of spice. The finish lingers long and powerful, as smoke slowly gives way to vanilla, toasted coconut, and a soft saline note — a dram crafted for those who crave depth and intensity.

Originally awarded “Best Islay Single Malt” at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge 2021 with an impressive 99 points, Machir Bay Cask Strength continues to showcase Kilchoman’s mastery of Islay peat and balance of flavour.
