Hermitage releases 100-Year-Old Cognac: A Century in the Making

In an extraordinary release, premium Cognac house Hermitage has introduced the Hermitage Siècle d’Or 100 Years Old Cognac, marking the oldest barrel-aged Cognac ever offered by the esteemed brand. Named in honor of the ‘Golden Century’ in France, this limited edition is a true testament to the art of Cognac making, boasting an unparalleled history and richness.

A Limited Edition Masterpiece

Only 68 exclusive one-litre decanters of this exceptional Cognac have been released, each presented in meticulously handcrafted Cumbria Crystal decanters. The rarity and craftsmanship of both the Cognac and its presentation reflect the luxurious heritage of Hermitage.

A Journey Through Time

Crafted from Ugni Blanc grapes sourced from the prestigious Grande Champagne region, the Siècle d’Or 100 Years Old Cognac is distilled in traditional copper Alembic Charentais stills. David Baker, the founder of Hermitage, highlights the significance of this release:

This is one of only a very small quantity of Cognac aged in cellars in the heart of the Premier Cru of Cognac known as Grande Champagne,” Baker explains. “Untouched and unblended, this vintage Cognac has aged for 100 years in Limousin oak barrels. This exceptionally long aging period has created a wide complexity of rich flavors and aromas, common only with the finest and oldest Cognacs.

A Symphony of Flavors

The century-long aging process has resulted in a Cognac with an extraordinary balance and depth of flavor, achieving a masterpiece of smoothness and quality. The Hermitage Siècle d’Or offers a symphony of flavors including: Cocoa, Burnt Toffee, Mushroom, Ginger, Candied Fruit, Kumquat

These flavors are enveloped in an intensely rich rancio, a hallmark of only the rarest and most exceptional Cognacs.
