Glenfiddich has announced a multi-year partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One team, marking a fusion of motorsport heritage and Scotch whisky craftsmanship. To commemorate the collaboration, Glenfiddich has unveiled a 1959 vintage whisky, paying homage to the year Aston Martin debuted in Formula One and secured victory at Le Mans.
Crafted from a rare Sherry butt, this limited edition bottling embodies Glenfiddich’s commitment to excellence. According to Malt Master Brian Kinsman, the whisky boasts layers of aged leather, beeswax, oak, and dried fruits, delivering a palate rich with festive spices, dark chocolate, and walnuts.
The partnership aims to unite whisky connoisseurs and F1 enthusiasts by offering exclusive experiences, blending the heritage and innovation of both brands. Glenfiddich CEO Søren Hagh emphasized the synergy between whisky and motorsport, highlighting shared values of craftsmanship and forward-thinking.
Aston Martin’s resurgence in F1 has mirrored its legacy, with a standout 2023 season featuring eight podium finishes and a strong driver lineup led by Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.
The 1959 Glenfiddich bottling was showcased during the Las Vegas Grand Prix and represents the brand’s vision to connect history with the future. As Hagh noted, whisky and motorsport fans alike can celebrate this unique collaboration, responsibly, after the race.
