Filey Bay Heritage: A Whisky Supporting England’s Historic Landmarks

Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery has launched a new limited-edition release: Filey Bay Heritage, a single malt whisky that directly supports the protection of England’s most iconic cultural sites. Proceeds from bottle sales will go to the English Heritage charity, helping to maintain historic locations such as Stonehenge, Dover Castle, and Kenwood House.

This exclusive release is available only through around 45 English Heritage sites and the distillery’s online store — notably not available at the distillery itself. It forms part of the brand’s “conservation editions,” where whisky plays a role in cultural preservation.

Bottled at 46.5% ABV and priced at £60, Filey Bay Heritage is matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. The whisky is described as rich yet approachable, with notes of honey, caramel, and a light, fruity profile.

According to the distillery:
“We do things with respect for the past but in our own way – so that future generations can enjoy and love this country too. That’s exactly what this release is about.”
