Independent Scotch whisky bottler Clydebuilt has unveiled a new visual identity, refreshed packaging and a streamlined range of three Single Malt Scotch whiskies.
The new presentation centres around a lightweight bottle etched with a map of the River Clyde and surrounding area, reflecting the brand’s connection to the region and its shipbuilding heritage. The bottles feature foiled and embossed labels, while the accompanying gift boxes carry the same Clyde map alongside a range of premium finishes.
Sustainability has also played a role in the redesign, with FSC-certified materials used throughout and gift boxes produced locally by McLaren Packaging in Inverclyde. The labels are printed in Scotland’s central belt.
The refreshed range comprises two core Sherry-matured expressions and a limited release matured in American oak.
The line-up includes:
- Clydebuilt 10 Years Old Sherry Cask Matured – Speyside Single Malt, 46% ABV, UK RRP £45.99
- Clydebuilt 10 Years Old 100 Proof Sherry Cask Matured – 57.1% ABV, UK RRP £63.99
- Clydebuilt 10 Years Old Candlebrae – Highland Single Malt, 48% ABV, UK RRP £55
The Sherry Cask Matured expression has been aged in a combination of traditional Sherry butts and European oak PX and Oloroso hogsheads sourced from José y Miguel Martín.
The same cask combination is used for the 100 Proof expression, which is bottled at 57.1% ABV – corresponding to the historic British definition of 100 proof. The higher-strength whisky is intended as a bolder counterpart to the standard Sherry-matured release.
Candlebrae takes a different direction, having been matured for 10 years in American oak casks. The Highland Single Malt takes its name from its waxy character, with the maturation designed to develop a naturally sweet and rounded profile.
All three whiskies were selected and developed by Whisky Maker Laura Davies, who has more than 14 years of experience in the whisky industry.
The range is bottled without chill filtration or added colouring.
Clydebuilt was launched in 2019 by Ardgowan Distillery and takes its name from the River Clyde’s long association with shipbuilding. Ardgowan began distilling its own spirit in June 2025, six years after the Clydebuilt brand was first introduced.
The refreshed range is now rolling out through specialist retailers, with prices starting at £45.99.
Ardgowan has also continued to invest in the brand, committing £5 million to mature malt whisky stocks in 2025 and a further £4 million in 2026.
The new Clydebuilt range is expected to be available through UK specialist retailers, with international distribution also planned.
