Bushmills Unveils 31-Year-Old Single Malt as Final Rare Cask Release

Bushmills Irish Whiskey has announced the fourth and final installment in its distinguished series, The Rare Casks. This limited edition series features high age statement Irish single malts, with the latest release being a 31-year-old triple cask matured single malt.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of Redbreast’s unveiling of the final bottle in their Dream Cask series of 38-Year-Old Zenith Edition, marking a significant moment for Irish whiskey connoisseurs with two iconic brands concluding their celebrated series almost simultaneously.

Bushmills The Rare Casks Limited Release No. 4 is a meticulously crafted single malt that began its journey with 14 years of maturation in bourbon barrels and sherry butts. It was then transferred into new American oak casks for an additional 17 years, resulting in a rich and complex whiskey. Bottled at 45.6% ABV, this expression offers a layered aromatic profile, including ripe fruit, warm vanilla, and rich oak, intermingled with sweet honey, spiced pear, orange peel, and dried fruit. On the palate, expect warm honey and vanilla combined with creamy milk chocolate, pear, sweet apple, and warming spiced coconut, leading to an exceptionally long finish characterized by sweet warm vanilla and honey, balanced with gentle spice.

Bushmills’ previous Rare Cask releases bore age statements of 28, 29 and 30 years. Rare Cask 1 was finished in Cognac casks, while 2 was finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and 3 in Madeira sherry casks.

Limited to just 780 bottles and exclusive to the United States, Bushmills The Rare Casks Limited Release No. 4 is priced at $2,600. Whiskey enthusiasts can find it in limited quantities online at ReserveBar.com and at select retailers nationwide. This release represents the culmination of Bushmills’ commitment to crafting exceptional, high-age statement Irish whiskeys.
