Buffalo Trace Unveils Limited Edition Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Distiller’s Council Bourbon

Buffalo Trace Distillery has introduced Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Distiller’s Council, a new limited edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey created using historic techniques and equipment pioneered by Colonel Taylor himself.

This release aims to be the most faithful modern interpretation of the bourbon once produced at the O.F.C. Distillery (now Buffalo Trace) under Taylor’s 19th-century leadership. It was crafted on small-scale equipment modeled after Taylor’s own designs, honoring his legacy as a pioneer of whiskey quality standards and production innovation.

The whiskey is described as grain-forward on the nose, with notes of biscuit and pastry. The palate delivers layers of toasted sugar, dark caramel, crème brûlée, plum dessert, and nougat, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).

Presented in a vintage-inspired Grecian glass decanter based on a design featured in a 1950s-era Old Taylor Bourbon ad, this release combines visual heritage with liquid history.

Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Distiller’s Council will be available in limited quantities beginning this month with a suggested retail price of $1,499.99 (750mL).
