Buffalo Trace Distillery has unveiled its latest high-end release, Weller Millennium, a sophisticated blend of vintage straight wheated bourbons and wheat whiskeys distilled in the years 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2006.
While the precise ratio of wheated bourbon to wheat whiskey in the blend remains undisclosed, the composition includes:
- 2000 vintage barrels: 3%
- 2003 vintage barrels: 50%
- 2005 vintage barrels: 40%
- 2006 vintage barrels: 7%
The official tasting notes from Buffalo Trace Distillery for Weller Millennium describe a rich and complex profile. On the nose, it presents rich caramel and toffee, underscored by a notable oak woodiness. Hints of dried fruits like figs or raisins, along with touches of stone fruit, add further depth. The palate maintains the sweet caramel notes, complemented by a prominent oak influence that imparts a subtle dryness and a refined, lingering finish.
Weller Millennium is elegantly bottled in a handcrafted crystal decanter, featuring a custom-made crystal topper hand-etched with W.L. Weller’s original “W” stamp of quality. The bottle is presented in an illuminated display with 99 bursts, symbolizing the 99-proof bottling and detailing the vintage percentages.
This exclusive release will be available in limited quantities globally starting in June 2024, with a suggested retail price of $7,500 for a 750 ml bottle.
