Ballantine’s introduces Chapter Three: The Moment from its prestigious 40 Year Old Masterclass Collection, a release limited to just 108 bottles worldwide, honouring the brand’s legacy of precision, timing, and generational mastery in whisky blending.
This new expression continues the five-part collection dedicated to the skills passed down between Ballantine’s Master Blenders, with The Moment specifically celebrating the knowledge shared by former Master Blender Jack Goudy and current Master Blender Sandy Hyslop — particularly the rare ability to discern the exact instant a whisky reaches its absolute peak.
Showcasing the depth and character of Miltonduff, a core single malt within the Ballantine’s profile, The Moment is described as rich, sweet, and creamy, layered with subtle warming spice that embodies the signature Ballantine’s style.
Sandy Hyslop highlights the essence of the release:
“Crafting a whisky of this age is an exercise in patience, but The Moment speaks to something even more profound — the precise instance when a whisky reaches its absolute peak.”
Each bottle — individually serialised and bottled at cask strength — is housed in a handcrafted cabinet featuring sustainable oak, fine fabric, and engraved metal detailing. The design includes a bespoke folded paper panel by Scottish artist Kyla McCallum, symbolising the exact moment the whisky finds perfect harmony after decades in cask.
Only 108 bottles of Ballantine’s 40 Year Old Masterclass Collection: Chapter Three – The Moment will be available globally from November 2025 at an RRP of $13,000 USD, released through select specialist retailers.
