The Heart Cut — two-time Independent Bottler of the Year (2024 & 2025) — introduces BARLEY, the inaugural whisky in its new grain-led core series, paying tribute to the foundational grains of whisky: barley, corn and rye.
A collaboration with five leading English distilleries — Cotswolds, The English, White Peak, Copper Rivet and Adnams — BARLEY unites their distinctive distillery DNA into a modern English blended malt. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and natural colour, it delivers a rich, vibrant profile with strawberry jam, thick vanilla cream, and cinnamon buns, designed to shine neat, shaken or stirred.
More than 5,000 whisky drinkers helped shape this release through The Heart Cut’s Whisky Matchmaker, a flavour-profiling tool that identifies the taste preferences people return to most. BARLEY is built precisely around those comfort-driven, fruit-forward flavours whisky enthusiasts repeatedly seek out.

With over 50 whisky distilleries now active across England, the nation’s rapidly expanding whisky landscape stands ready to rival established global regions. BARLEY celebrates this rise — a multi-distillery expression showcasing the confidence, creativity and quality of English whisky.
Co-Founder Georgie Bell explains:
“We’ve spent two years listening to thousands of whisky drinkers tell us what they love, and BARLEY is our answer. It’s delicious, sippable, mixable — and a celebration of the incredible whisky being made right here in England.”
Cotswolds’ Rob Patchett adds:
“Collaboration is what makes English whisky so exciting right now. BARLEY captures the diversity, character and quality of English single malts in one unified expression.”
