Glengoyne launches Teapot Dram Batch No. 011

Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky has unveiled its latest highly anticipated release: Teapot Dram Batch No. 011 (59.7% ABV / 70cl / £125). Limited to 3,000 bottles, this coveted edition launched on 20 November 2025 and is available exclusively through the Glengoyne Distillery Shop and the official website.

To understand the significance of the Teapot Dram, one must revisit a unique chapter of whisky history. The expression pays tribute to an old distillery tradition in which workers were given “three fingers” of whisky, three times per day. At Glengoyne, these drams were always drawn from first-fill sherry casks, reinforcing the distillery’s long-standing dedication to craftsmanship and quality.

Younger staff who preferred not to drink so much during work hours poured their whisky into a copper teapot. Over time, a blend of rich, sherry-matured whiskies accumulated inside, sitting openly on the canteen windowsill, ready for the older, more seasoned workers to enjoy during the so-called “dramming days.” Although on-site whisky consumption ended in the 1970s, the story—along with the teapot—remains part of Glengoyne’s heritage. The Teapot Dram series was created to honour this tradition.

Teapot Dram Batch No. 011 is bottled at natural colour and natural strength. As with earlier releases, it is crafted from young Glengoyne whisky matured exclusively in first-fill sherry casks, including European oak sherry butts, European oak sherry hogsheads, and additional hogshead casks. Each batch is overseen by Glengoyne Distillery Manager Robbie Hughes, ensuring consistency, richness, and authenticity.
