Ardnahoe with New Cask Strength Core Range Release

As whisky season reaches its peak, family-owned Ardnahoe Distillery on Islay unveils the Cask Strength Edition, the third addition to its growing core range.

The new Ardnahoe Islay Single Malt – Cask Strength Edition (5 Years Old) is bottled at a bold 60.9% ABV and crafted exclusively from spirit matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. Launching 30th October, this limited release (RRP £65) showcases the distillery’s signature Islay character in its purest form.

Expect aromas of coastal brine, earthy peat, and rich cocoa, followed by orchard fruits, herbal tea, and salted caramel on the palate. The finish lingers with smoky depth and citrus undertones, offering the full power of cask strength whisky with the freedom to dilute to taste.

The Cask Strength Edition — batch one of an ongoing series — follows Ardnahoe’s previous core releases: the Oloroso sherry cask-matured Bholsa, known for its fruity spice, and the Infinite Loch, celebrated for its smoky, zesty balance drawn from ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso casks.

To mark the launch, Ardnahoe will host an exclusive distillery event on 30th October featuring a tasting session and bottle signing with Distillery Manager David Livingstone.

“This third bottling in our core range is a significant milestone,” said Livingstone. “Cask strength whisky is bottled straight from the cask, preserving its full intensity and allowing whisky lovers to explore its natural depth in their own way.”

Since beginning production in 2018 and opening officially in 2019, Ardnahoe has quickly become a standout among Islay’s distilleries. Following its Inaugural Release (2024), Ardnahoe has introduced several limited editions, including Manager’s Selection, the Ardnahoe Society 2024 Release, and Skerryvore XX, celebrating the Scottish band’s 20th anniversary.

The Ardnahoe Cask Strength Edition (RRP £65) is available via ardnahoedistillery.com, at the distillery shop, and through specialist whisky retailers worldwide.
