Inverkip, Scotland – Ardgowan Distillery is opening its doors to the public for the first time, offering whisky lovers the chance to explore its newly completed site through guided tours and tastings.
The independent single malt producer, which filled its first cask in June 2025, will begin hosting tours on Tuesday 12 August 2025.
Visitors can join 90-minute experiences running twice daily, Tuesday to Saturday, at 10:30 and 14:00. Each tour includes a behind-the-scenes journey through the production areas and warehouse, followed by a tutored tasting of three malt whiskies from the Ardgowan portfolio.
With its strong commitment to sustainability and several innovative production techniques, Ardgowan promises an experience rich in unique stories, heritage, and modern whisky-making insights.
Distillery Shop and Exclusive Bottling
From 12 August, the on-site shop will be open 10:00–17:00, Tuesday to Saturday, stocking the distillery’s Clydebuilt range. Visitors will also be able to purchase a Distillery Exclusive Clydebuilt 2012 Pedro Ximénez Hogshead Single Cask Single Malt for £85.
Leading the Visitor Experience
The tours and shop will be led by Barbara Campbell, a fifth-generation whisky professional and former Glen Ord Distillery Visitor Centre Manager. Campbell’s career began in 1990 and includes being the first female Diageo Brand Ambassador.
Speaking about this milestone, Campbell said:
“When I decided to talk to Ardgowan about joining the team, my intention was to inspire a new generation of whisky drinkers and see whisky production move in an innovative new way.
It was quite simply a case of ‘what’s not to love’ when you see the commitment to a sustainable new distillery, world-class quality, and the introduction of the new ‘Infinity Cask’ for luxurious long-term maturation.”
Campbell also emphasised that the Visitor Centre will evolve over time, with plans to build a lasting heritage for future generations.
