Not long ago, we explored the intriguing world of Highland whisky with Cù Bòcan, and now we invite you to discover another captivating release: Arbikie Highland Rye Artists Limited Edition No 1, a unique collaboration between Arbikie distillery and artist Francis Boag.
Francis Boag, known for his vibrant and expressive use of color as part of the New Scottish Colourists movement, has lent his artistic talent to create a striking and abstract label for the Highland Rye. Each bottle of the Limited Edition No 1 will include a signed art print by Boag, making it a true collector’s item.
This special edition whisky was matured in new American oak casks and finished in Calvados casks, infusing fruity notes that complement the bold character of the Highland Rye.
Christian Perez, Arbikie Distillery production manager, shared his insights: “Francis Boag’s approach to art, with its bold colors and brush strokes, inspired us to experiment with Calvados casks. This unique maturation process brings out aromas of caramelized apples that harmonize with the spicy character of our Highland Rye. It’s a symphony of affinity and contrast, much like Boag’s artistic style.”
Only 1200 bottles of the Arbikie Highland Rye Artists Limited Edition No 1 have been released, available exclusively on arbikie.com and through select specialist retailers.
