Get ready to uncover the spirit of Islay with the highly anticipated Ardnahoe Inaugural Release, the debut single malt from Islay’s ninth and newest distillery. Founded by the esteemed team behind Glasgow-based independent bottlers, Hunter Laing & Co.,
Ardnahoe Distillery takes its name from the Gaelic term meaning ‘Height of the Hollow’, reflecting its picturesque location nestled amidst Islay’s stunning landscapes.
What makes Ardnahoe truly unique is its pristine water source, drawn from a deep loch renowned for its exceptionally soft quality, having filtered through peat and rock over millennia. This water forms the basis for Ardnahoe’s whisky-making process, imparting distinct character to each drop.
The barley used at Ardnahoe is dried over peat smoke for approximately 20 hours, a crucial step that lays the foundation for Islay’s signature peaty flavor profile. The spirit is then carefully distilled in two traditional lantern-shaped copper pot stills crafted by Speyside Copperworks, ensuring the spirit captures the essence of Islay’s rugged terrain and maritime climate.

Part of the magic happens right at the distillery, where a portion of the Ardnahoe spirit matures, absorbing the island’s salty sea air and unique terroir, adding depth and complexity to the final whisky.
Mark your whisky calendar for the official launch of Ardnahoe Inaugural Release bottle (70cl, 50% ABV) on Friday, May 10th at £70 from online shop.
