Graham Eunson, Tomatin’s Master Distiller and Distillery Operations Director, will retire on 30 May 2025, concluding an influential 34-year career in Scotch whisky and a 14-year chapter at the Highland distillery.
Graham joined Tomatin in 2011 as General Manager before assuming the dual leadership role in 2019. His remit has included oversight of all aspects of production, maturation, warehousing, and visitor experience—playing a pivotal role in shaping the distillery’s modern identity and global reputation.
During his tenure, Tomatin was recognised with several major awards, including Scotch Whisky Producer of the Year and Outstanding Spirits Producer of the Year at the 2022 IWSC. Under Graham’s guidance, expressions like Tomatin 18 Year Old earned repeated acclaim, most recently achieving Platinum status after three consecutive Double Golds at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Graham also helped define key expressions in Tomatin’s core and special release ranges—from the accessible Legacy and lightly peated Cù Bòcan, to the 2024 relaunch of The Antiquary blended Scotch with new age-statement bottlings.
To honour his departure, the distillery has unveiled a special commemorative bottling: Tomatin Legacy Makers – Graham Eunson Edition. Just 514 bottles have been released, created from two casks that bookend Graham’s journey—a refill hogshead from 1990, the year he entered the whisky industry, and a French oak barrique from 2011, the year he joined Tomatin.
Bottled at 56.1% ABV and priced at £150, this expression delivers aromas of stewed red fruits, apple crumble, strawberries and cream, evolving to dried mango, banana, and papaya with subtle peat and rancio depth. The medium finish is drying but fruity—a complex tribute to Graham’s contributions.

“Tomatin is an exceptional distillery,” said Eunson. “I joined with one goal – to leave it better than I found it. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved, and of the whisky we’ve created for the world to enjoy.”
From 30 May, his duties will be shared among the wider Tomatin team, including Distillery Manager Jamie Muir, HSQE Director Fiona Birkinshaw, and Blender and Global Brand Ambassador Scott Adamson.
The Tomatin Legacy Makers – Graham Eunson Edition is available now from the Tomatin Distillery website and select whisky retailers.
