Unveiling a Bespoke Experience
In commemoration of its 200th anniversary, The Macallan has partnered with Cirque du Soleil to present a unique and tailor-made experience: Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT. The historic distillery marked the beginning of its anniversary celebrations with the recent launch of the 73-year-old single malt Tales of The Macallan Volume II.
Event Details
Scheduled to take place from 9th to 31st May 2024, this exclusive event will be hosted at the Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland.
A Sensory Journey
Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT promises to immerse visitors in a sensory adventure, guiding them through a captivating journey encompassing taste, smell, sounds, and feelings. The performance revolves around Ayla, a colorist and daughter of a master whisky maker, and Davonna, the spiritual guardian of the Scottish Highlands, drawing inspiration from Scottish folklore and the nation’s rich whisky heritage.

At the core of the narrative lies a theme of reconnecting with nature. According to Marie-Hélène Delage, creative director at Cirque Du Soleil, SPIRIT is ultimately “a tale that celebrates the beauty, wonder, and deep connection we all share with the natural world.”

Jaume Ferràs, creative director at The Macallan, described the collaboration as a bridge between the art of whisky making and the spectacle of performing arts, creating an unforgettable experience deeply rooted in the nature that surrounds The Macallan, its rich history, and its bold vision for the future. Guests from around the world are eagerly anticipated at the Estate, where they will have the opportunity to partake in an exclusive experience and a bespoke whisky tasting surrounded by nature, all unique to The Macallan.
